Joel Murphy

Founder and Executive Director

Passionate about disrupting the status quo, Joel drives our mission with bold ideas and relentless innovation. A pioneer in the CFD and fintech space, he isn ’t just thinking about the future – he is creating it. Prior to serving as Executive Director of Eightcap Holdings, Joel was the CEO of Eightcap until January 2023. He holds over 15 years of leadership experience in the banking and trading industry, including time spent at Goldman Sachs, ANZ Banking Group and Adelaide Bank. Joel also led sales at Pepperstone Financial, where he played a pivotal role in driving growth and shaping the company’s strategic direction. His extensive expertise in both financial strategy and customer acquisition positions him as a true innovator, steering Eightcap Holdings towards the future of fintech.

Tim Brady

CEO and Executive Director

An expert in driving operational excellence and financial strategy, Tim leads Eightcap Holdings with a sharp focus on efficiency, scalability and growth. With a deep background in operational and financial leadership, he brings a strategic vision and hands-on approach to help shape our financial foundation. Tim joined Eightcap in 2017 and now serves as an Executive Director for Eightcap Holdings. A Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience, he has held key roles at Pepperstone Financial, ABN AMRO, and FXCM. With a strong foundation in financial services, Tim combines technical expertise with a forward-thinking approach to optimise performance and scale operations.

Patrick Murphy

Founder and Chief Commercial Officer

With a deep understanding of industry tech, Patrick is always anticipating the next big change in fintech. He adapts quickly to evolving landscapes, solving problems before they surface and ensuring our global partners are always ahead of the competition. Prior to founding Eightcap, Patrick led global compliance strategies at Eurotrader and OpenPayd and was instrumental in shaping regulatory frameworks in the fintech space. Operating now as CCO, Patrick brings a unique ability to bridge the gap between regulatory compliance and fintech solutions, allowing Eightcap to not only meet industry standards but also innovate at pace.

Bryn Newell

CIO

Bryn is the powerhouse behind turning our tech solutions into integrated infrastructure. He streamlines end-to-end processes and drives efficient and agile delivery and performance. Before stepping into his role as CIO, Bryn served as Eightcap’s CTO from May 2021 to April 2024, leading the charge in tech innovation and execution. With over 18 years of experience in financial services, he has held key roles at National Australia Bank, including Head of Technology and global delivery positions. Bryn has a strong track record of managing international tech operations and using data-driven strategies to drive business and operational excellence across APAC, the US and the UK.

Alex Howard

Managing Director Regulated Markets

As a growth leader, Alex is laser focused on driving sustainable success. From navigating new markets to building strategies that accelerate both product and business innovation, he is the engine behind our rapid growth and market expansion. Prior to joining Eightcap, he held several senior positions within the industry, most recently as Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Asia Pacific at StoneX and the Head of Asia Pacific at IG Group in Singapore. With over 20 years of experience, he has extensive knowledge in Banking, Forex Options, Securities and Prime Brokerage.

Michael Clifton-Jones (CJ)

Head of Embedded Derivatives

CJ specialises in bringing game changing tech to life. He is dedicated to delivering tech strategies that fuel growth, streamline processes and create a seamless experience for our global partners. CJ has over 16 years of experience in financial markets, specialising in forex and derivatives. Before joining Eightcap, he held leadership roles at Convera (formerly Western Union Business Solutions), where he played a key role in building strategic partnerships and driving innovation in cross-border payments. He also holds a Master’s in Leadership and an MBA.
